June 2005 Branch members visit to Ireland In mid June members of the Sussex branch of the European Movement joined with visitors from a German branch of the EM in a visit to Ireland. The visit gave the opportunity for the group to be briefed on some current European issues, and to exchange experiences with both German and Irish colleagues. |

Friday 4 November 2005 British Presidency lunch Sir Stephen Wall, who recently retired as adviser to the government on Europe, was the guest at the autumn Presidency lunch at The White Hart, Ardingly Road, West Hoathly, from 12.30 pm . There could be no-one better equipped to talk about Britain’s key role in 21st century Europe. Between 2000 and 2004 Sir Stephen Wall was the head of the European Secretariat in the Cabinet Office. There he was responsible for co-ordinating official advice on EU issues to ministers. |
